Advocacy

Legislation significant to the administration of justice or the fundamental rights of the public is of interest to all lawyers. As a champion for Maine's system of justice, the Maine State Bar Association advocates on behalf of its members and the public for laws that are fair and sound. MSBA members are encouraged to take a personal interest in legislative matters. During Maine legislative sessions, the MSBA provides its members with periodic updates on pending bills affecting the legal profession, as well as bills addressing broad issues of public policy. Through its various sections, the MSBA also serves as an information resource to Maine's citizen legislature.
