Sexual Harassment Update in the Wake of a Wave
CLE CREDITS: 1.25 (PRACPRO)
This seventy-five minute webcast reviews whether or not sexual harassment is actually on the rise, the #MeToo movement and a doubling in sexual harassment complaints filed with the Maine Human Rights Commission since 2015 reflect a trend worthy of attention. This panel will discuss a wide range of hot topics in the sexual harassment arena, including recent developments in the law, the extent to which “real life” resembles or differs from the allegations and scandals dominating the headlines, preventing and responding to retaliation, and proposed changes to the bar rules. The panel will also cover settlement of sexual harassment claims, including the pros and cons of confidentiality, generally and specifically in light of recent changes in the law.
