Sponsored by the Veterans’ Law Section
Maine is home to thousands of veterans, active-duty service members, and National Guard and reservists. America has been at war for over 12 years, and the withdrawal of our troops from Iraq and the winding down of operations in Afghanistan have brought (and will bring) thousands of them back home to Maine. Coming home can mean facing difficult changes, including coping with physical and mental injuries, reemployment issues and financial challenges, stressful family conditions, and in many cases, legal issues that developed while deployed. Whether or not you are a VA-accredited attorney, have military experience, or a background in veteransx law, therexs a good chance you might have a client who is a veteran or service member. This one-day program will introduce you to some of the legal issues affecting our military and veteran communities. It will also expose you to the benefits and resources available to people in these communities and to attorneys who assist them with their legal issues.
Full refunds will be given to those cancellations received by 4:30 p.m., 5 working days prior to the program. Registrants who cancel after this deadline but prior to the program date will be charged a $35 administrative fee, but may choose to receive the program DVD package (if applicable) and receive self-study credit. A link to download and print the materials will be sent to those who fail to cancel in advance. Telephone 1-877-622-7554.
