MSBA Legislative Update GOVERNOR ANNOUNCES NOMINATIONS TO DISTRICT COURT Peter Darvin has been nominated by Gov. Baldacci for the Maine District Court. Mr. Darvin has been in private practice since 1996 and also served as a staff attorney with Pine Tree Legal Assistance for a number of years. E. Mary Kelly has also been nominated for appointment to the Maine District Court. Ms. Kelly has been a Family Law Magistrate in the Maine District Court, and also served as an assistant Attorney General for a number of years. The nominations will be reviewed by the Judiciary Committee and confirmed by the Senate. LD 1795 (indigent legal services) – Public Hearing is March 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in Room 438 of the State House.
