LD 1668, "An Act to Implement the Recommendations of the Initiative to Streamline State Government."
The Appropriations Committee voted unanimously to support LD 1668 "An Act to Implement the Recommendations of the Initiative to Streamline State Government." The biennial budget passed last session for FY10 and FY11 included $30,000,000 to be found by streamlining state government. The Appropriations Committee worked through the summer and fall to address the $30,000,000 streamlining requirement. LD 1668 is the result of their efforts and will now go to the full House and Senate for emergency action. The Appropriations Committee begins its public hearings on the Governor's supplemental budget addressing the expected $438,000,000 shortfall in revenues on Jan. 7 and will conclude the public hearings on Jan. 14.
