LEGISLATURE TO HAVE SHORT WEEK
The week of February 15 will be a short week for the Maine State Legislature. Monday, February 15 is a state holiday so all offices will be closed, and Tuesday, February 16 is a mandated state shut-down day being used as a budget saving mechanism, so all state offices and legislative offices will be closed (except for certain exceptions). It is also school vacation week in Maine, so many legislators are hoping for abbreviated days at the State House in order to spend time with families.
JUDICIAL CONFIRMATION HEARINGS SCHEDULED
The Judiciary Committee has scheduled three confirmation hearings for Thursday, February 18. At 1:00 p.m. the confirmation hearing for the Hon. William Broderick as Active Retired Justice of the Maine Superior Court, at 1:30 p.m. the confirmation hearing for the Hon. Wayne Douglas to the Maine District Court, and at 2:00 p.m. a confirmation hearing for David Soucy to the Maine District Court.
