In many cases, parties want to jointly represented by a single attorney to maximize resources. This may arise in the case of members of a family in a business, spouse in estate planning, or partners litigating a case against another party. The ethical tensions of these representations are acute there are at potentially substantial conflicts of interest, which must be identified, disclosed and waived. This program will provide you with a guide to identifying the ethical issues in joint representations, how to discuss them with clients, obtain waivers, or withdraw from the representation.
